Pirelli MT66 Road Test

I've put about 50 miles, freeway and city, on these tires.
They handle well. I got the feeling once or twice that the bike wanted to go a little further into a turn than I wanted, but nothing even approaching a control issue.
Part of the freeway I ride has those annoying grooves for rain, the ones that make the bike feel like it's having an identity crisis. Again, no problems. Still felt the weirdness, but it was less than I experience with the Valkyrie, though a bit more than the old Dunlop D404's.
They look smaller than the Dunlops. Granted, the Dunlops were white walls, but they look smaller from the edge too. Not sure if they are smaller, or if it's some sort of optical illusion created by the treads. Or, if it's my crappy memory.
The ride isn't quite as smooth as before. It isn't harsh, but I do feel some of the bumps a little more, uh, firmly, than before. In fact, acceleration and braking feel firmer than before. This could be due to the tires being new.
I don't hear much noise. In fact, I don't know if I heard any noise, between the engine, exhaust, and wind. Very quiet tire.
Right now, I have to say I'm quite pleased with them.
Wet weather performance will have to wait for wet weather. That might be a while here in LA.
Mileage, likewise, will have to wait for the miles. I don't plan on putting a huge amount of miles on this bike right away, though I will be commuting with it quite a bit this summer.
Burnouts? As soon as somebody buys me a replacement, I'll let you know.
Good Tires!
