It's interesting that Stephen Crane (author of _The Red Badge
of Courage_) was a newspaper reporter in that war and noticed some
Cubans (who stood to gain their independence) tended to hang back
and let Americans such as the Marines and the Rough Riders
do the fighting for them... this remind anyone of the ARVN?
