I live in a rural area here, but everyone is pretty sane. I imagine that even if I put bumper stickers on my truck like "Meat is Murder" and "All Farmers are Murderers" and regularly gave the finger to motorists, the worst I'd get is a confrontation or maybe a little axe-handle action to the body.

I suppose if I did it long enough, I'd run into someone willing to play rougher ... but it just seems statistically odd that Hopper and Fonda were able to run into someone like that.
