Orange County sheriff's deputies said Jeff Conway, 24, mistakenly walkedIf he shot a person who accidentally walked in through a door
into the home of Berky Deguzman, 62, near the University of Central Florida
campus late Wednesday. Deguzman apparently thought Conway was a burglar and
opened fire, officers said. "(Deguzman) said he was in his house and
somebody started banging and the next thing he knows, the guy is standing in
his house and he got his gun," an officer said.
that he left unlocked, I hope the moron gets his ass sued off
and looses the house.
Breaking and entering would be another story, but if you're
going to start shooting first and asking questions later, you've
got to be a total moron not to lock the front door.
Beat on my door and barge in it's a good chance you'll die real fast.
Between a guard dog and me. It's a short trip to the mortuary for
anyone entering in a manner that denotes hostility. Same goes if
nobody mentions a warrent. Everybody dies and I get stuck with
cleaning the floors and walls. Patients and waiting if for victims...
Only time I was ever in that situation, I did in fact shout a
warning at a genuine burglar who proceeded to book out fast.
In this case though, it sure sounds like a possibly drunk
college kid wandering in by mistake through an unlocked
door and waking up this moron who shoots him.
This appears to have happened in an urban area. Get a dog
or lock the door or offer some warning that you're about to blow
the guy away. Personally, I'd be happy to award the moron's
house to the guy he shot if I were on a jury in a civil suit.- Hide quoted text -

Huh, because the home owner defended his life and
his property by cutting the drugie in twain with a double barrel
10ga???
Yeah right. None of those are my words but yeah
sure, that's exactly what I said. From the account
posted, the guy heard a noise and fired at it with
no clue who he was firing at. I've got no sympathy
at all for that.
Since the meth addict burglar and 85 year old guy
are both total fabrications, your theoretical situation
is horse***, and don't deserve a further answer.- Hide quoted text -
Actually Rob you'd be wrong it did happen in OKC in the mid/late
90's. But yes I qouted your post. Accutrately without alteration...
So you "qouted" me "accutrately" huh ?
"so you are saying that if a 85 year old man has a burglar (stoned
on meth) break in and he locks himself in the bedroom and said drugie
continues to try to break down a second door. You'd give the drugies
family the old mans house"
Nice. Show me where this was said by me or anybody else.
Your response about the original post...should have included it. Sorry
about that meant to include it. You said they ought to give the
homeownser house to the person that broke in.
My take on it is that if you're gonna shoot when you hear
noises you damn well better lock your front door.
You'd be surprised how easy it is to pop a door open.
Supposing he had just left the front door unlocked and booby
trapped every night to injure anyone who walked through it ?
Not a lot of difference except there'd be howls of indignation
and he'd likely be in a bit of trouble. Like I said, I think he's
an irresponsible trigger happy ***.- Hide quoted text -
AH but that was covered years ago...guy ended up electrocuting a kid
messing with his trash cans. What a maroon he was. IIRC he got life.
As for unlocked doors. WHY would you lock it when you are home? Are we
not the final line of security? Cops can't hang around all the time,
security can be subverted. I don't have the answers and I doubt anyone
has all the answers. You have to what you think is right.
