You sound like a besieged tower, or a cornered animal, or whatever
metaphor is more appropriate in your neck of woods.

You're just trying everything you can now. Ever heard the concept of
"projecting" in *your* neck of the woods?

The question you should ask yourself is why you seem to feel you have
such a stake in this.

----
The only stake he has is in being called a liar and a general usenet creep over this. I watched the discussion evolve, and frankly, he was anything but. In other words, it's youse and your over sensitivity to negative HD comments, turning to personal attacks when he doesn't conveniently just shutup when demanded. What a surprise!

If the same had been said about Triumphs, which I ride and enjoy, I can hardly see working up the energy to be their apologist, or worse, deny the possibility, against all logic and reason, that anyone can ever have a problem. The only stake I have in Triumph is the safety and usability of my bike, not yours or his or anyone else's. Safety demands that misbehaviors in handling and control need to examined and satisfactorily explained. I would want to know whether it was a new tar snake, worn or badly adjusted shocks, or an inherent design flaw. Aside from that, I could care less what someone else's bike does or doesn't. Similarly, my lack of problems doesn't mean everyone else is a liar or misinformed.

I mean, this might be important for me and others who actually own and
ride the bikes you're talking about... but *we* have no problem!
Doesn't that hint you could be on the wrong trail, Sherlock?

------
The discussion could just as easily have been about the unique design of the Telelever, with one major difference. They generally don't care whether you think their ride is cool or not.

The only way you have left to justify your position now is to claim
we're all lying and that a person with absolutely zero experience
(i.e. you) knows better. Such a sudden concern for safety from a guy
who claims to have crashed once a year for the past 10 years.

---------
Personally, I think Mac users suffer from the same misapprehensions. Linux bigots fall into the same category. But even they're mainstream enough these days that you very seldom see their apologists unless you go far out your way to find and prod them.
