This is about 8 times the incarceration rate of Germany.
Point out another country that has our street-gang problem,
**AND** tries to do something about it ( as opposed to the several
examples in SA and Africa, or Mexico, etc), that have extreme crime
problems and DON'T do anything about it.
If we have 8 times the incarceration rate of Germany, why is our murder
rate is 6 times higher?

Don't compare us with Mexico or Africa, we're in the big leagues.
This is a debate that will never be settled, but I think the US'
punitive attitude is part and parcel with our violence problem. And
it's why we've been in a constant state of war for the last 90 years.
And this with the boomers (former hippies) running the show.
