when i changed the oil on my bike about a month ago i was in a rush
and didn't think to level my bike before checking final oil
level....and to my surprise i was way under so i poured 3 qt.'s of oil
instead of the reomended 2.8
i rode it for a day or two, just cruising speeds. i then took it home
and checked it once again once the bike was level.....i was way over.
i then took oil out. it started to make a clacking noise, it
progressively got worse over the week i rode it. so i stored it for a
couple days, then decided i wanted to go for a small joy ride, it
started like it always did i let it run for a bit to warm it up. i
proceed down my street, i missed going fast so i gave the throttle a
little jerk, it bogged down more and more until it finally died abt.
100ft from my house. i started it again, it turned over but i wasn't
able to put it gear because it would die, so i eased on the clutch
giving it no gas what so ever, i moved a little bit then it died
again. Oh and the only time i was really able to hear the clacking
clattering noise was when the bike was warmed up???? angry and
confused i took all the fairings of and tried to start it it would
turn over, i could feel the pressure coming out of my pipe but it
wouldn't start???
What in could it be? I'm thinking i need to get my valves adjusted,
and clean the carb and go from there or what?
