Thanks you so much! This explains why the bike was leaking gas when
parked. DOH!

Check to see if fuel ran into your oil.
It sounds like it's time to rebuild the carbs too. Float valves are
leaking.

Next qustion....is the reserve setting usually just half the tank or
much less than that??

Depends on the bike, but I doubt if it's half the tank. Usually it's a
half gallon or less...
