I've tried that. Now what should I do about the cramps in my hips
that are caused by leaning so far forward?
You have 2 options: do flexibility workout and build strength in your
core muscles; or switch to a less aggressive riding position. The
latter can be done either by playing with your control positions or by
switching to a different bike. There's no point riding something
that's designed to be ridden in a certain way if you physically
can't. But give some good exercises a shot. They're good no matter
what you ride because flexibility decreases the likelihood of a number
of soft tissue injuries in the event of a crash. All leg stretches
are good, especially hamstring stuff. If you go to a gym, try those
machines that make you squeeze your thighs together (the opposite is
the machine, where you have to spread your thighs against resistance,
which isn't as relevant to bikes).
Sport bikes are not built for comfort.
Side grinders are made for grinding and cutting harsh materials, not
pedicure. Rackmounted servers are made for running server software,
not playing solitaire. Sport bikes are made for hard and deep
braking, high corner speeds, and early and hard acceleration out of a
corner, not comfort. That said, if you use any tool properly, it'll
be much better than if you're not.
