Wait a minute. I'm as pure as the driven snow, not Villaraigosa!
So, are you ready for a more corrupt government than you have ever
experienced in California?
That's not possible. We had Reagan as Governor, remember.
Are you ready for the political spoils system to turn
all state bureaucracies over to Mexican civil servants?
We even had an Armenian Governor once.
That's what we have here in the San Joaquin valley, where there are two
Mexicans for every American.
Who else will pick the fruit and vegetables, in 115 degree heat and allow
themselves to get sprayed with insecticide on a regular basis?
The Mexican civil servants act like the Blacks behaved in Los Angeles
after
Tom Bradley was elected.
And the whites believed in Richard Riordan.
The Mexicans think that a bureaucratic job means they are supposed to come
to
work every day all dressed up in their best clothes and stand around and
look
important and their clients can just go to hell, they could care less
about
clients,
unless they are Mexicans of course.
That's a pretty racist comment, Krusty
The big freeze earlier this year ruined the citrus crop, farmers lost
about
3/4 of a billion $, and the federal government jumped in to bail out the
American farmers who can't pay their loans and bail out the Mexicans who
can't pay their rent and utility bills.
Yeah, and when they do work they can't pay they're bills anyway, because
they are not paid a living wage.
Haver you ever been to Avenal? Who's fault is that shithole?
Then, only a month later, the weather warmed up to normal, and the
unemployed
Mexicans had nothing to do.
Okay, if the growers paid them legally they could collect unemployment.
So the Mexicans took all the free government money and went out and bought
food and had big fiestas in all the local parks.
I would do the same thing.
But they still claim that they are suffering because there is "no work",
and
they don't want to go back to Mexico.
I haven't heard that. Who is they? And they don't want to go back to Latrin
America because it would be extremely difficult for them to get back in.
The local Spanish language newspapers are full of compalints about how
"the
workers" are suffering. In their minds, Mexicans are the only workers.
I don't read Spanish. But, it's true, the "Mexican's" (Latins, actually)
aren't treated fairly by the big right wing corporate growers..
And the American landowners will defend their Mexican employees, claiming
that Mexicans want to work, but Americans don't want to work.
Would you pick strawberries?
That sucks, when Americans would rather hire Mexicans than hire Americans.
Not true. Americans would want dollars to do the same work the "Mexicans" do
for pennies. And then the "Americans" would quit, and sue their employers.
Temporary employment agencies are now staffed by Mexicans and nobody
except
Mexicans can get a temporary job to earn a little extra cash, because the
employers want "good workers" who will stay on the job without medical
benefits or vacation and who will work for half the fair wage.
Okay, is that the "Mexican's" fault?.
Several years ago, the county welfare agency was giving unemployed
American
meat cutters a bus ticket out of town. Many of them went to Iowa, to work
in
the meat packing industry there.
I know several butchers who left the business because of factory meat
rendering. embalmbers too..
Then the local meat packers, like Foster Farms, said that there was a
shortage of meat packers and they needed to bring in temporary workers
from
Mexico.
Foster Farms fills short term needs for meat packers by going to the
temporary agency that is staffed by Mexicans. If you're not a Mexican meat
packer who's been steadily employed packing meat, you ain't gonna pack no
meat at Foster Farms.
Foster Farms puts up big bill boards in northern Mexico inviting Mexicans
to
come north and work for Foster Farms.
So I don't get your point? Who's fault is it? Mexicans, Americans or large
right wing corporations?
The illegal immigrant issue is ALL bull***, whitewash propaganda, anyway.
The United States couldn't compete in the global market without the services
illegal aliens provide.
