those are all pretty big for a beginner. If you're a really big guy
(like my son, at 6-6) I recommend the Kawasaki Ninja 500 as a starter.
For most people, I recommend the Ninja 250.
In general, I also recommend that beginners avoid from cruiser style
bikes, as they are generally less maneuverable, and as a beginner, you
have a higher probability of needing that maneuverability than you
will as a more experienced rider.

I have been getting a lot of advice regarding size. Many are of the
opinion that skills are mastered and then the desire is for a larger
bike. The nighthawks are plentiful but old and last produced in 1991,
unless I am wrong. I am a little hesitant to pick up a 1500K bike only
to not be able to get parts for it. If I am wrong about this
assumption, let me know. In terms of the bike being too big, I have
some faith the saftey course and some serious practice can get me
where I need to be in terms of control. I have nothing but time
regarding the decision, but the above reflects some of my thinking on
the subject...
