Actually Greg, I think part of Don's problem with you has more to do
with the fact that, you yourself are a moto-neophyte, yet your posts
always incorporate a tone of arrogance and punditry when you talk
about motorcycling topics.

For example, you don't know modern bikes well enough to even be able
to tell exactly which model the rider in question bought, yet you made
some pretty bold assumptions that were based largely on stereotype.
Your lack of basic knowledge was further illuminated when you made the
comment that the kid likely paid 10 or 12 grand for a used Ninja 750.
I paid $7600 for mine when it was new.

Analogous attitudes are exactly the reason I don't hang out in guitar/
music groups anymore. It's frustrating to read post after ego-filled
post by countless, talentless hacks who can't play or sing their way
out of a paper sack -- but they own an expensve collector piece, so
they're an expert.

Please continue to hang around, but don't get all bent out of shape
when you start getting feedback you don't like. That's what Usenet is
all about -- well, Reeky anyway. You'd get better use of this
newsgroup by asking questions, rather than attempting to pontificate
this early in your return to motorcycling.
