People are going to give you hard time about riding at your age. As
the treads to your post confirms, others are out there doing it.
Personally, I believe you can do it and be just fine. But even at my
age, I understand my mortality and so should you. So far, I've spent a
lot of my life stressing over things that were stupid. I was not
living life nor was I enjoying it. But I have the chance to change
that in the back half and I'm not going to waste it. My decision. My
life. You make your own decision but no matter what you do, enjoy
life! Try the bike thing. If you get too weirded out on it, you can
always sell the bike and try something else. Just be careful. Buy the
helment, take the class and ride within your comfort. You'll be fine!
Thomas thank you for your thoughts.
The bike came about an hour ago. Then he tells me it needs leaded gas,
but he puts in premium and it's just fine? Then mentions a short serial
# on the bike, but that was the era b4 tags.
Blah blah blah. I paid him. I walked around it. I kick stated it once.
It took some force. I think that's good. Went int the house to fill out
some form . Came to try the elec start and turned on the key and nada.
Then said oh, wait, I need to hold in the clutch, nada. Then like a
dumbass bolt outta da blue...starter button..kaboom. He left his Ky
plates on it so it looked legal and I couldn't resist. I put my black
BB cap on backwards, then my shades and drove it aropund the block,
then the next block then full circle around the neighborhood. SWEEEET!
I down shifted oncce by accidently. I almost lost my hat once. Some
Harley guy waved at me I think. I was too involved holding my hat down.
I raised my eyebrow (spock-like), but I don't think he noticed. This is
gonna be nice, once I get past the BMV..........
