Sean, just a thought.
You should be looking for a 17mm bolt on the side of the engine.
If it's not a bolt it will be something that can be grabbed between you
thumb and index finger and turned.
And yes I said "side".
It will also be angled upwards slightly so that you can put a funnel into
it to fill the crankcase. Most small engines like this set the fill hole
up so that you fill the
engine with oil until the oil level just gets to the bottom threads of
the bolt hole.
I can't believe he's been riding this thing and still doesn't know how to
add oil.
Sean, do you know how to CHECK the oil level?
Sure, locating the gauge was pretty straight forward but
locating a 'bolt' which my manual describes very vaguely was
not easy, even the mechanic who checked the bike couldn't
find it and he ended up with the suggestion of filling the
oil into the oil gauge opening.
