I just installed the Giva A305 Windscreen on my bike. It looks pretty
good, but I'm not so sure about its functionality. One thing it does
is highlight how ugly my signals are. I need to find some nice LED
ones. The UK version of the bike already comes with nice looking
signals.

I should probably have taken off the tank bag for the photos.

The lithobraker. Zero distance stops at any speed.

The windshield/fairing, whatever you want to callit looks good. Fit's
in nice with the lines of the bike.

I'd leave the stock turn signal lamps, those smallones are useless.

Which reminds me, HAND SIGNALS! The MSF doesn't teach hand signals,
because they figure the newbie has enough on his/her plate without
taking their hands of the bars to GET ATTENTION of cagers in all
directions and try to MAKE SURE they know what you are going to do.

CAGERS DO NOT SEE YOUR DIRECTIONALS they have no idea what they are if
they do see them, use them but pretend they don't work and DO NOT assume
that any other cage sees your directional lights. They most likely do
not. Therefore, wherever possible use your handsignals, be IN THEIR
FACE and make sure they know you are stopping, turning or slowing down.
Eye contact is good, but clear, deliberate hand signals, eye contact or
not, are important. They wake people up, it's the movement.

I was on a ride the other day with a relatively new rider and he asked
me what all the hand waving was about. At first I thought he was
kidding, then I realized the was serious and had no clue about basic
hand signals.

Here's a good link for them.

Use them.
