Yeah, I know. Me too, especially the mechanic and radio technician parts.
Toss in draftsman, outside salesman and life insurance agent and you've
pretty much got me down pat.

Remember the old "displaced person" question at the unemployment agency?
They started that back in the seventies. That was the kind of expression
that was used in lieu of saying that your job was moved overseas, or that it
no longer existed because of technological advances.

When you have a father and a father-in-law that both retired nearly non stop
from Dupont, it is difficult to convince them that the company they loved so
much had changed into another temp hiring company - we owe you nothing -
company. That's cool if you are a college educated professional, but a non
college graduate needs a pension, a good health plan, etc. Those days appear
to be gone forever. I hope I'm wrong.

Fortunately, I'm retired with a good income and health insurance. But I get
gloomy when I think of the young'uns out there. Like that will help anything
at all.
