S40 (formerly Savage) will go a long ways, it is one of the
few mid-sized bikes recommended for beginners, but is also
cruise capable.

My Savage (same as S40) doesn't do that steering thing you
mentioned, turns fine. You will not want to remove the little
white spacer, unless you really know what you are doing. In
some cases, it makes things worse. Best visit a Savage forum
for exacting details.

Not all agree. S40 is a better beginners bike, SV650 could be
a good second bike.
