You haven't ridden the same buses I have, it's clear! But part of that observation is the size of the bus relative to the road imperfections that effect it and the car. A much longer wheelbase and bigger tires will dampen out some of that, and bus suspension is set up for compliance much more than load or handling. Compare a bus to a truck of similar size, fully loaded - which is smoother? The truck's unsprung weight is much less of the vehicle's overall weight, but it comes down to the compliance of the suspension given the heavier load the truck is hauling. Now think of that load as Ben Spies or Aaron Yates...
Anyway, think of a comparison between a small speedboat and an ocean liner on open water - the ocean liner is clearly going to be smoother. And there it's all unsprung weight... or is it all sprung weight? Hmm...
