The message is so pervasive that people would rather spend sevral
thousand a year more on insurance than pay more taxes, even if the
net amount was much less because someone they consider undeserving
might benefit in some way.
Of course, the insurance lobby and the politicians they have bought
have managed to convince them that the cost will be far higher in a
government one payer system than it will under the current system.
Even though the USA has one of the highest percentage of GDP costs of
medicine in the world for developed countries. More than twice that of
Canada.
than why do people come here from Canada for care when they can;t get
it done there.....
They can get it done, they usually wait too long to get seen for it and
then can't/won't wait for the operation. You can't jump the line here
based on ability to pay.
The only thing that moves you up is time or urgency.
and yes I personally kno3w of that happening
I don't doubt it.
I hope they manage to get it sorted out and that you can find the help
you need. My Dad had glaucoma as does his Sister in England.
Both were treated at lttile or no cost.
we don't; need help, I choose my doctors and go to them, I choose to
pay for medical insurance to help with the costs, when I have no
choice but to follow the govs medical, I will have *** care IF I can
get in, just like my cousin who is dependant on gov medical care

Small samples of where one system worked and the other fucked up are not
representative of systems as a whole.
Both our systems need to change but as long as we are all being lied to
by the various asshats with something to gain we will never get it any
better.
What you need is private medical paid for by the gov't with equal access
for everyone.
The worst part of our system is the government running the hospitals.
The best part is having the government pay directly to the hospitals.
I've had a shoulder and two knee operations, all sport related, all
completely covered.
The only time I have paid any extra was to upgrade from plaster to
fibreglass for a cast when I broke my ankle playing baseball.
If you think we get *** medical care you are listening to the bull***
paid for by the insurance companies.
The vast majority of us get better care than the vast majority of you.
The vast majority of the French get better care than both.
How does that feel.
The French do something better than the US and Canada.
Our system would be better too if your's wasn't paying out so much money.
Our doctors would stay here instead of jumping on the gravy train.
My card's on the table.
Round's on me.
