So, there I was sitting in a bar minding my own damn business?.
Of course, I eventually had to go home?. So I did. <g>
Greeted Mrs. Bear, chit chatted about what happened during her
and my Tuesday, and then off to the computer for email and r.m.h.
There were two messages that stood right out. One from Traci
and one from Bill_G?. Hmmmmmmm.
Read Traci's and she said that "Bill_G was headed over to her
place tomorrow to 'fix' her computer situations. One computer
because it was a new laptop, the other because she must have
done an ooopsie!" <g>
Read Bill_G's, and he said "Bear, you around?"
I responded to both, quoting each, of course:
"I's here. What time do we meet at Traci's?"
YeeeeeHaww! There's gonna be an AH meeting near Albany. <g>
If we had tried to plan this, it wouldn't have worked out. Totally
impromptu and spur of the moment seems to be the way it works
for us to be able to get together. Must have something to be with
all of us being 'Slugs' and not being able to make plans. <g>
It could not have worked out better. The ONLY two days in a row
for the entire week that Wednesday would have NO rain, and
Thursday was predicted for only a 20% chance. (More on this
later) Checking with the Mrs. and the calendar on the refrigerator,
(You do have one of those, right?) everything was a go for a trip
to Traci's to meet up with Bill.
Got up early Wednesday morning to pack for an overnight and
Check out GRZLY to make sure he was up for a road trip.
He was. Temperature at 0700 est was 36 degrees. YIKES!
What happened to 90 degrees of Tuesday? All was good
Because I didn't intend to leave until 9 or 9:30 anyway and
it will surely warm up by then. It did. When I left at 9:45 <snerk>
It was warmed all the way up to 45 degrees and climbing. All
is well. I had my Gerbing heated gear jacket liner under my
leather jacket, but not plugged in because it was surely gonna
get warmer, which it did. All the way up to 65 by the time I got
to Traci's. Fighting a little bit of head wind for two and a half
hours got me there with a big grin on my face and getting about
37.2600 miles per gallon. Hmmmmmm, that is strange. Last fall GRZLY
was getting closer to 45 mpg while traveling into a head wind at
75 mph. Oh well, maybe it's bad gas or something.
Bill had said he would be arriving at Traci's around noon or a little
after. That is exactly when I arrived?.. but NO Bill_G.
I greeted Traci and Tori and went to change into something a little
more comfy. (heh, heh) Opened a beer, chatted with my host for
a while, opened another beer, continued chatting, opened another
beer and STILL no Bill_G. So I got on the phone and left him a
message. I said "You said you'd be here shortly after noon?
It's now shortly after one and you are late and three beers down."
Bill pulled in about three minutes later and Traci and I ribbed him
for being late. <g> Then he got to listen to his voice mail. Heh,heh.
Greeting were said, hugs were given and all was well in our part of
the world. Dinner consisted of 'Judy's Ribs' a recipe from the AH
Cookbook. Consultation had to be made with Judy because a couple
Of ingredients had to be left out, and the cooking procedure was
Going to be a little different. Judy insisted that 'then they aren't my
Ribs". We (I) insisted that they were her ribs, just slightly modified.
(Good talking to you Judy, sorry we missed Puder.) Home made
potato salad was the only other food item needed for the meal.
It was ALL so good! . Beers were drunk, Vodka was drunk,
Wild Turkey was drunk? and computers were worked on. <g>
My job with the computer fixins was to keep Traci AWAY from
the computers - and Bill, while he did his thing. We both did our
job. Heh,heh! Many calls were made to Assholes? and other
netscum around the country. A good time was had.
Remember I said the prediction for rain was 0% for Wednesday
and only 20% for Thursday? Wednesday worked out perfectly.
Thursday, just before Utica, NY I ran into a little drizzle. Hmmm.
Then between Utica and Syracuse the sky opened up and dumped
a hard rainfall for about three miles. Never put the rain gear on, and
it really didn't soak my leather jacket and chaps, all's good. <g>
Thing is, if I could get a 20% win prediction for the lottery?.
I'm playing.
Mileage on the way back to the Den, fighting heavy gusts from the left front
quarter, 42.6592 mpg. Course I was only doing mostly 70 mph on the way back.
