I noticed the plunger was getting pushed back into the cover and
sticking, therefore not engaging. Now, here's the fun part. I was
running errands yesterday, and at my
last stop, the starter didn't want to work. Usually a tap on the
solenoid cover would make everything better. No dice. I pulled the
cover off, and while I'm taking out the solenoid plunger. (this is
when I discovered it was sticking in the cover), ....
Are you sure the ball bering is still in the shaft at the end of the
plunger?
If the ball fell out, it will cause your plunger to kick out and get stuck
in the cover.
someone walking by
says something. I get distracted, and drop the plunger. It makes
contact, and arcs. Cuts the fuggin spring in half.
I hav an extra one if you need it.
