<steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> walked in circles muttering at their left shoe:
She's GOTTA learn to listen to me about stuff....she onlyHow's she going to handle the cold going over those mountain passes?
drank about 1/2 the water I did, and was adamant about
taking her mesh jacket off up where we stopped on the way
into Wickenburg.
She just doesn't understand how the equipment works and
insists she was cooler without the jacket. Well......she
dehydrated real quick with the wind and sun on her arms, etc.
Told me AGAIN she doesn't like riding on the bike, I told
her the bike wasn't responsible for the heat and how she
dealt with it. We woulda been better off going yesterday
when the high was 92......it was 100 by the time we got home
this morning little after 11.
Will probably have to bundle her up, blindfold her, gag her, etc. (Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil).....
I'm thinking she'll handle the "cooler" weather better than the heat.....much of the ride will be very pleasant, only time it'll get cold is when we pop over one of the mountain passes.........and last year is was in the 70's when we crossed Monitor Pass.
Well, Deb did the same thing (as Julie) coming down to your place: refused to drink enough water, wouldn't wear any more "gear" than what she had on, didn't really want to stop all that much, and still complained about the ride. It was a PITA just to get her to wear boots and gloves (and helmet).
She insisted she was hotter with the mesh jacket on....I tried to tell her it was because she didn't drink enough water to sweat a little (she says "I don't want to sweat")...tried to explain the design of the equipment and the need to drink plenty of water. Now she even claims the helmet gave her a headache (NO...you were heat stressed cause ya frikkin refused to utilize the equipment we bought for you!!!).
I keep trying to tell her that I'm not making "suggestions" about the use of equipment because I think I'm some kinda "know it all" (her label for me)......I'm telling her she needs to use specific equipment based on YEARS of experience I've had working/riding in those types of conditions.
I'm really going to have to rethink taking her on the trip in October. (Not that I can verbalize that: then she'll *insist* on going. Sometimes ya' can't win.)
If we pull into the Pilot truck stop and you're by yerself...my wife will be so pissed (and you may not live through that!!).....She's been assured she won't be the ONLY wife going along on this trip with a bunch of guys........<sfsf>.
