Hi All!That can drive you nuts and there is no way to ignore it.
I just took my '98 Dyna Conv. out and after about 30 minutes and a good
warm up period I noticed new engine noises. One is like bird chirping and
at idle I can hear what sounds like air leaking. It sounds like an air
compressor instead of a big twin. When I got it home I couldn't tell where
the air leaks were coming from. Any ideas? Thanks for any help here.
Jay
Sometimes a home made stethoscope will work.
Roll up a paper into a cone and listen as you move the large end around.
Have the large end about 1 " in diameter. Make it from a 11" x 8" paper.
It may work or it may not.
If its a leak and leads to combustion (intake), a small amount to propane
gas from a torch will cause an increase in RPM
.
