Contaminated with what?????
This is what popped up right after loading that site "content checker
found virus: HTML.Phishing.Bank-292". Along with that, after I closed
Firefox I tried to open it again and kept getting a window saying that
it was already in use.

The site says this blocks the installation of bad things but that it
doesn't
have to be kept running in the background. So my feeble mind wants to
know
how it can block something when it's not running?
IIRR it blocks them from loading in the windows registry which prevents
them
from running on your machine. It adds data bits to the entries so they are
invalid.
OK. Not trying to be difficult here (that comes naturally to me , I don't
have to try) but HOW can it do that if it's not 'running'?
It fires a shot over the head of the offending program.
Sounds close enough to me. I think in the help file that comes with it that
there is a brief explaination how it does it's thing. It probably adds the
entries to the registry with the kill bits in place.
