Re: Bike shows, IRL's and axe murders

The missus and I ran down to Minneapolis/St Paul for a cycle show Saturday.
We had a good day. I got to sit on a few bikes, bounce on the seats and make
vroom-vroom noises. It helps keep your sanity here in the frozen tundra.
Bought the missus a Gerbring jacket liner as she is pretty wimpy. She does
not like riding in temps much less than 95F, so the heated liner should
increase her enjoyment a bit. As prior arrangements we ran into a few
questionable types at the show. We had a mini IRL with Don and Judy, and
Monica.

I was wondering who would first admit to this tryst. I knew it wasn't
gonna be ME . . . . Good on ya, Greg, for stepping up to handle this
responsibility.

I was pleasantly surprised as they seemed to be pretty normal, nice
people

Yeah right. I seem to remember someone talking about his invisible
friend, and yet you say "pretty normal". That's VERY charitable of
you, Greg!

for Harley riders!

Oh yeah sure, it's disclaimer time. OK, you mean "relatively" normal.

So you're not as charitable as I first thought. Oh well, you still
done pretty good . . .

.. . . for a HARLEY rider!

It *was* a fun day, even including meeting up with Greg, his missus (I
forgot her name already -- CRS SUX), and Monica. Jood and I actually
bought some stuff too: Two new Throttle Rockers, some cheep imitation
chamois towels and a Big Foot to keep Jood's kickstand from sinking
into the asphalt if ^Z^Z when summer gets here and the temperatures
get high enuf to make it all squishy. Oh yeah, and a Givi keychain
(free, IIRC)! Jood did swing a leg over some geezer glides and declare
that they might be a LOT more comfy than her Beemer, but that she'd
have to sell all three of her motorcycles to afford one.

Jood had more fun earlier at the J. Ring Glass Studio in St Paul where
she bought several hundred dollars worth of glass and supplies for
making more beads and other purdy fused glass stuff. So she sure had
more fun than I did, but it was still a pretty good day, yeah sure yew
betcha . . . .

Then we got home to a broken water heater and an eBay auction I was
hoping to bid on that went WAAY over the amount I was willing to
spend. So instead of spending on fun motorcycle stuff and eBay stuff,
we're spending on a new on-demand water heater.

Oh well, when we have our next IRL at the Fearn Estate, there'll be
plenty of hot water in the new downstairs bathroom . . . .

-pooder th' "GOOD weekend!" ***
