Thanks. The page is still a work in progress. Since the last post,
I've added some stuff about clutch inspection.
Mostly, I've been pleasantly surprised at the good condition of
components I've inspected so far.
The service manual says to replace the clutch friction plates once
they get down to .143" thick. Mine measures out a little over .150"
after 90K miles, so I don't think I'll replace them at this time. The
sprocket gears look good too (to me, anyway - there's pics of them on
the page as well).
The rubber engine mounts at the swingarm are another matter. The
center hole is worn to about 1/8" to the edge of the inner circle of
the doughnut.
Btw, anyone reading this with some advice or words of caution, when it
comes to removing the swingarm to replace the rubber mounts, I'm all
ears. Seems that I'll have to support the bike differently (just got
it on a floor jack right now). Hopefully, getting the swing arm pivot
shaft back in, after removal isn't too difficult...
