We have rarely prepared for the inevitable. I know now that at some time in
my lifetime, I may be holding a large sum of money, and it be worthless.
How much does $100 dollars get you in downtown New Orleans today? Fire
kindling?

After every other natural disaster, people used ready cash to acquire the
goods and services needed to survive. Not so true in New Orleans. Money is
worthless there...maybe for months.
