Jeff Campbell ("J.C.") and I had a mini Spodefest '97 reunion last Saturday. Conditions were as good as they get out there in the Oregon high desert.. It had snowed the day before, but it all had melted. We had a little sun and it was around 65 degrees. The big thing out there is, it's so very dusty. It's critical to get out there right after it rains for the best trail conditions. Jeff and I hit it just right. Unfortunately, after about 42 miles, Jeff's clutch master cylinder sprung a leak and he lost his clutch, so we hit a road and limped back to camp. Still, it was a pretty good ride.
We figured out that we only live a couple of hours away from each other, so I hope we'll be able do this again.

Really enjoyed getting out for a ride. I'm way out of riding shape but had a lot of fun right up until the clutch spewed its fluid everywhere. Thanks for the invite. Good to see you again Dennis.
