Tiago,
Thanks for the ride report. I've been doing a lot of riding (12 of
the last 14 weekend days), but not much reporting. I think about it,
but I just don't seem to get the time or "a round tuit".
A week ago, I could have written about working trail and riding at
the Trainrobbers Trail in a monsoon style rain storm with MXPhlipper,
and then again the next day when it was beautiful weather, with Opie,
Phil, and several friends in the ADR; but I didn't.
I spent last weekend working trail, riding, and camping out at the
TrainRobbers again. I spent (if you count the walking and cutting
time in with the seat time) eight hours on the trails on Saturday and
six hours on Sunday (I rode a lot better on Sunday.); but I still
didn't write anything about it.
(I had it good. It didn't get over 85F here during the day last
weekend.)
So, just in case I'm too tired or brain dead when I get home this
Sunday (late at night); I am going to submit for all ya'll's approval
the following "pre-ride report".
Friday morning, I leave for White Rock Mountain. (Combs, AR, the
site of this year's Wudi Ride). Friday afternoon, I will put the '82
Husky XC250 through tech inspection and then impound it in the parc
ferme, awaiting the start of Saturday's race..
Saturday morning, after the riders' meeting, I will leave the line
for the start of the 60 mile route of the first day of the Two Day
ISDT Qualifier Warm-Ups #1.
It's round 7 & 8 of the AHRMA National Cross Country Series.
For a preview of the event, look here:
http://www.ahrma.org/Z-2009/Nationals/Cross_Country/Previews/09_rnd7_cc_combs_preview.htm
Lord willing, I will get up Sunday morning, get the bike out of
impound fifteen minutes before my row leaves the start, and head out
for the approximately 40 mile route of the second day's fun.
After the trails and special tests, I'll eat lunch and get ready for
the start of my class's five lap moto in the early afternoon.
After trophy presentation, I'll load up and take the 5.5 hour ride
home; stopping by my youngest son's home at Atkins, AR, to pick up
the 2004 DE300 that I bought from a Minnesota rider who was visiting
the state last week. (I got it on the "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday,
for a hamburger today" buyer's plan. It was an offer I couldn't
refuse.)
It's supposed to be Thunderstorms on Saturday, and "Chances of
Thunderstorms" on Sunday. This will be an interesting event.
At the most, I'll try to write a report. At the least, I'll let you
all know "how it was" and "how I did".
The bike is ready, and I'm almost packed and loaded. Today, I
finally got around to installing a fender on the left side of my cargo
trailer; to replace the one I lost due to a blow-out on the way to
Idaho for Spudfest '06. <VBG>
Good Riding and Reporting!
