Ummm, That would be price... Unless you are offering to machine
one for me for under $100.
I am looking at this piece and have a hard time figuring out how
a small shop turning out limited batches of these can come
anywhere near making a profit on them.
Designing my own on the CAD system here @ work would be
very simple. It would be way expensive getting one of
the local machine shops that do work for our company to make
me a "one-off". If this were a company paid for tooling part. We
would be looking at ~$1,500 in materials and labor. Not counting
the design and drawing creation labor charges. Then drawing
release, planning, Materials & Properties, the Stress engineering
reviews, the drawing checker, Management over head costs...etc...
For a large aerospace company to make something like this one
off unit. $10,000 easy. And if it flies, or goes into Space!!!!!
Yikes! Don't ask.

As for altering the part not the bike. That is one concept I almost
always agree with. So I am with you Dean. I have no plans on
changing to new forks. If I did they would not fit this brace anyway.
It's a one time, for all time, modification. I will look carefully
before
I take a tool and start removing material from a stock part. I know
you can't very easily put it back once gone. But it is such a small
amount. .040"deep X .300" wide. to widen the groove that is already
there.
I have no plans to run a fork gaiter. If I did it would be a set of
neoprene seal savers. So having room for those is not an issue.
Again thanks for you comments and suggestions. Design by
committee, sometimes it works.
