Mike,
I'm awful glad that MA attracts such types (hysterical yuppies) to
such a degree. I am glad AR is generally unappealing to most of them.
It's only a theory, but I believe our infestation of totally useless,
harm-generating clueless do-gooders stems from the characteristics of the
thought-ecosystem in place here. First, Southern New England just has a
shitload of colleges creating a chain of closely-spaced academic
communities. While I unfortunately have to live near academic communities
for other things I see as basics to existence, such places also are
high-visibility centers of "do-gooderism as a competitive" sport. The
concept of respect for a scholar's/expert's ideas... for an uncommonly
intelligent person's ideas... has spread/metastisized to include the
concept that any dumb ***'s thoughts/emotions are valuable and should not
be muted to avoid any unspeakable lifelong harm to their self-esteem... the
"life essence" under your average dumb *** hysterical yuppie's belief
system. The colleges near my home are, fortunately mere degree-mills for
people who bring up the rear in life, but 20 miles away is
Amherst/Northampton... an academic center that concentrates some otherwise
excellent schools and as notable for its ridiculous thinking as Boulder,
Berkeley and O'Bama... Oh my!
I would put another contributing characteristic of the infestation as an
uncommonly high fraction of the financially successful people around here
work in old-line industries like insurance and financial services/banking
that are as conservative as McMann and Tate was in the 60's... whoever wins
the big United Way contest is "the best person". It is obviously mandatory
that people who work in such stuck-in-time environments are statistically
hyper-limited in life experiences and exposure to either alternative POV's
or what creative thought even looks like. This peer group is more than well
stocked in all of the knee-jerk reactions you would associate with New
Rochelle's Rob and Laura... "do it for the children"... "well, I'm not sure
a child of that age needs to be doing that"... They are, one at a time,
nice people... but as a group, soul-sucking and harmful in their reflexive
group-think.
Whatever happened to natural selection?
Natural selection was outlawed by Mother Massachusetts. EVERYone must be
saved from themselves... EVERYone must be protected from all threats...
visible threats... potential threats... invisible threats... from the most
statistically trace possibilities of whatever horrific harms can spring
forth from the "imagination" of the Commonwealth's electorate or
legislature. The state police (i.e. the organization where the no-real-use
e-cops report) have built up an empire by promulgating ridiculous
"regulations" like the 10-year old limit or the
no-non-state-cop-will-even-learn-them "CMR's"... more minutia and dumb ***
a state cop (the inspiration for the Nazi's uniform's in WW2 by the way)
can spend his over-paid day trolling around the state in his technology
rich mobile Cheyenne Mountain that doesn't do *** for the average MA
citizen. The average more-than-financially-secure douche bag in MA, and
especially our douche bag governor (a mini O'bama who has also figured out
how to recast harm as "hope"), engage in competitive do-gooderism and, like
our embarrassing but fortunately soon-to-be-smaller Kennedy clan set the
tone early on here know how many votes are to be found drilling for raggies
and parasites. Like our ***-state and our ***-governor and our
***-hysterical yuppies decided two years ago to drag MA from one of the
best health care systems ON THE PLANET into a world of universal health
care and third-rate health coverage FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTAULLY MATTER by
deciding that "everyone who does not acquire mandatory health care will be
shot". More screws turned on the thumbs of the small business man and an
observable speed-of-light decline in coverage quality has ensued. Two days
ago, my daughter needed an appointment at our long-time doctor for a
problem and because of the tidal wave of raggies into the program which I
get to pay more for than the average person... she could see her in
November or December, but if she (not the doctor... my daughter) felt it
was urgent, she should go to the fucking emergency room and hang out with
the gang bangers, the permanently intoxicated, the sad forms of life that
NEED to die and would under unfettered natural selection. WE were advised
to go to the ER or the "clinic"... wherever the *** those are... NOT the
FUCKING RAGGIES USING *OUR* DOCTOR.
I can't imagine it being against the law to ride with my children
when they were younger; or it being against the law to ride with my
grandchildren now.
Unfortunately, do-gooders can imagine it. I'd like to see every fucking
do-gooder, and the *** flying monkeys that enacted the Draconian
policies and taxation necessary to carry out their quest for Utopia killed
stone cold dead... slowly... painfully... with maximum gore...Gore.... on a
cable channel like CSPan dedicated to documenting the cleanup of social
parasites and those who keep them going.
That would generate some serious animosity in me.
In fact, it does now, just thinking of it.
XxxxSuckers!
You have to learn to let things roll off your back, Jim.
Best Regards,
Jim
We'll give up our XR50 when they pry my cold dead hands off the
bars.
Word.
Nice hearing from you. Take care.

Oh man... I don't know if I want to laugh or cry. I do know that
having grown up in, and recently having moved out of MA, I
wholeheartedly agree.
I went to NH, which seemed like a good idea at the time, but it’s
starting to look like NH, especially southern NH, is actually turning
into N. MA. Damnit. I’m not sure where I’m going to go next.
Its nice out here near Cortland NY, and Cornell is just over the
hill... and I'm 85 miles from what I'm sure is one of the toughest
dual-sport events out there.
Every MW post over 4 lines ends up re-affirming my decision to live
somewhat in the boonies.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure NY & I disagree pretty
strongly, some might even say irreconcilably, when it comes to
firearms. I know NYC is real bad, but I think the state laws
themselves may be an issue for a man of my beliefs.
Not as bad as some outside the city, but worse than others.
I don't know anyone who has sought a pistol permit and was denied one,
though.
