Well, that's what it felt like with the 5.6 earthquake that hit 30
minutes ago. The epicenter was about 9.5 miles from me. That was the
biggest quake I have experiened. I had some CDs fall off the shelf of
my desk and now have crooked pictures on every wall, but that's about
it.

Yikes,

Yikes is right! It wasn't the biggest one I've ever experienced, but
it may have been one of the longest duration ones. I was wiping down
the counters in the kitchen and Eric was on the bed watching TV. The
cats freaked out and ran, the windows started rattling, and I thought
"Huh...an earthquake..." Eric said, "Hey, that was a good one..." but
then we realized it was still going on. I put the sponge in the sink,
walked into the bedroom, Eric got off the bed, and we stood together
under the doorframe waiting for it to end. It went on forever! At
least it was a "roller" and not one of the violent jolts we get
sometimes.

We've recently been talking about getting prepared for The Big One, as
far as stores of food and such. We already have water stored, we
always keep the Pleasure Palace ready to go (full water, propane, gas,
food, clothes, etc,) full gas cans in the back yard, extra cat food,
and a good supply of stove fuel and first aid stuff. Eric also likes
to keep the big 4 strokes ready to go in case they become the only
Urban Escape Vehicles capable of getting out of the hellhole left
behind. I guess I better get on that food thing sooner rather than
later...

Tami-

Tami,

I was in the Spartan gym watching UoP and San Jose State women's volleyball
when it hit during the second game. >

Nice to see another Women's Volleyball fan on here... :)

Glad all RMDers are okay...
