My Kaercher died of that, too (busted some seals). Despite having filters
in the water line *and* the power washer connector. With all the recent
heat, the line pressure decreased so much that the washer is not even able
to operate continuously. It builds up pressure for a few seconds, then
shuts off due to lack of water, then fires up again. Pretty annoying and
probably not boosting longevity.
My machine is Karcher too... I had the exactly same problem you
describe. A long time ago I disassembled the pump and some o-rings
were out of place, after I put those back on place, washer worked
great, until this weekend... I tryed to fix it again and made problem
worse, the pressure is only a little above the hose pressure... The
pump (alluminium) looks corroded, it does not look good. Guess it is
rebuild time or to get a new one, but I'd hate to throw out a good
working electric motor... hmmm, I am wondering if I could make a
grinder out of it....
