04 YZ 250 Sticking Shifter

Hey Guys, I noticed last night while riding that my shifter is now
sticking when shifting gears.. especially when i have my clutch pulled
in, and I am trying to downshift, the foot shifter will not come back
up in position so I will have to force it back up in order to
downshift.. does anyone know what this might be about or what I should
do..?

Also, what would be the best tranny oil to use in this bike.. I mostly
ride desert.. Thanks.
