Sorry, poor sentence structure, the implied end to that statement was
inside "the house". I suppose it could have been construed to imply
the "inside of the dog" is okay, which is probably correct, but not
what I intended... (is the cat keeping up with this thread?)
It's hard to guess what the disgustiing part of the story was, but
should the implied end have been something more like:
Dogs are okay inside the stew pot.
Dogs are okay inside the oven, cooked slowly at 325 degrees for 2
hours.

Now you've conjured up a vison of Martha in jodhpurs, with knee high
boots and a riding crop, a little hitler style mustache, barking out
orders to her minions, a large crowd, holding up soup ladles, chanting
"und die ist eine gute Sache" (and that is a good thing).
