What happened to all the scale modelers? Are they all on-line or playingsnip
war games?
All the hobby shops in my area have closed down. The local toy shop has a
fair collection of plastic kits and basic supplies.
The nearest "proper" hobby shop is 100kms away (Brisbane, Australia).
Brisbane has a number of "proper" model shops but even they are
concentrating on R/C and diecast stuff.
I guess there just isn't the market for models anymore. That could be
because children aren't modelling these days. Then again, with the number of
old kits at swap meet etc, there is probably no need to buy new. A friend of
mine has a stash of about 250 unbuilt 1/72 kits. He bought the vast majority
of them second hand in the last 5 years.
