Re: Latest IPMS journal

I agree, Jack, that we need to get back to modeling and get past the petty
crap. I also thought the Journal had generally become rather dry and
unexciting and I usually skim through it quickly and only stop to read when
an article catches my attention and that one apparently didn't. As I said
in an earlier post, I didn't even read the subject article but, from what
others have posted, it sounds like it was totally inappropriate in a
modeling magazine. Some people let their ego get in the way of common sense
and they think that what they have to say, regardless of content or
appropriateness for the particular forum, must be shared wit "the world."

As the new President of IPMS, I too was disappointed in the tirade in
the latest Journal.
As I have stated in the IPMS forum, I do not wish to beat a dead horse
on this issue. The editor stated what he believed was a personal attack
when in fact it wasn't personal at all. The Journal needed revamping
and he didn't do it as requested but new editors proved that they could
put out a superior publication at less cost so we (the IPMS E-board)
decided to go with the new Journal.
I still believe that this will pass and the the hobby and the society
will survive. It is unfortunate that he chose to air his dirty laundry
in the Journal but he is the one to suffer from his outburst.
Let's get on with the fun of modeling
