Hi,

<snip>

My question is, I have a century century elite 6 - 6 channel fm-ppm
tx. Would this be good enough to start out on with the raptor ?

Is it a heli specific radio, or at least a radio which has helicopter
requirements built it? If so, then yes. If not, then "Not really"

Hi Beav.

Funny, I was just reading your website :-)

That's more than I've done for a LONG time. To be honest, I'd forgotten it
was still up:-)

Yeah, it came with my micro heli, but not a computer controller...
does that matter - to get me started anyway.

Computer, schmomputer, it makes no diff, so long as there's at least SOME
way to split the collective from the throttle and have independent settings
for both. Even a basic "pitch trim" which doesn't affect the throttle is
enough to get you going. It's not necessary to have sophisticated stuff to
get around the field either, as I and many others can testify by flying
circuits, loops, rolls and pirouettes and combination of all the above with
four channel radios with NO mixing of any kind.

That was in the bad old days mind, and the price of transmitters these days
has made our struggles a complete waste these days. You can get hold of a
multi channel radio with in built heli mixes for less than 100 quid. Cheaper
still on Fleabay.

Thanks

As always, no probs.

Controllers for less than 100 ? where where....

Yep, the referance to your webiste, found it in a article you were
writing about what helis to get - being it all depends on what you
want to do, all dated 2003...

er... joined this news group on thursday adn downloaded 24000
articles... slowly going through em ;-)

the more im reading, the more i think i will just get the tx for now,
and a flight sim to get some sort of practice in, well, a tx which is
compatable with a flight sim ..... and save my pennies for the heli.
