I fly CL at my own club in the UK, Both the CL and RC fliers coexist with
no problems at all. I have never heard any RC fliers complain about not
being able to hear their engines. This may be due in part to the same
noise restrictions of 82db applying to every type of model. In the CL
circle you may raise an eyebrow occasionally, or Tut! if an RC model
strays over our airspace but that is about all. You would be a pretty poor
CL flier if you could not fly level a meter off the ground for a couple of
minutes until the problem is past.

The only people that seem to have up sticks and gone somewhere else to do
their own thing, are the helicopter fliers.

The RC flight line is in the process of being realigned to increase the
distance from one particular isolated residence where complaints have a
habit of originating from, this has freed up enough space to get another
CL circle laid out. And if the field was bigger I'm sure a number of
people would be flying free flight models.

Maybe we are just more more disciplined or tolerant here?
