FYI...I have seen FIVE more discussions (none of them mine) deleted in
the short time I have been on that site.

Not for nothing, but which threads? I look at that forum several times
a day, but I don't read even a 1/10th of what's posted there.
FYI: sometimes, they don't actually "delete" the thread. If you search
for it, you can still find it.

Yeah, they can get pushed back in a few hours; some are locked but
not deleted and sink rapidly into oblivion.

Also, there are some resident trolls who
come out every once and a while and stir up trouble...was that it?

Al is/was posting to several, under aliases. I notice a few of those
threads, all content free, are gone.

Censorship seems to be the rule rather than the exception over there.

Well, considering the large number of postings over there, I'd say that
was a over stating the case against them. I do believe that they have an
active moderator (perhaps overly so), but at least they themselves don't get
into the ego battles).

Consider TMT's statement in the context of how long he's been posting
to the MR forum, Paul...

So much for it being an unbiased site....it is not.

I don't think anyone ever said they were unbiased. As I said earlier,
they have never liked criticism of Kalmbach, 'tho they will take some flack
as long as it's not of the "You stink!" variety.
In any event, this is one of the reasons that r.m.r still has it's
place. There's no mods and it comes with your (decent) ISP.
BTW, could you explain what is going on with Andre on the MR Forum?

Prices of GP40X's and "Competitive Pricing"? What's that all about? I
think I took my "stupid" pills when I tried to read that thread...

No, you didn't. TMT did take some Bortle elixir, though. Andre
appears to be laughing at the whole thing.

BTW, no worries about that egregious trademark violation. For
licensing and penance, make a one-time donation to the "Hey-you-kids-
get-offa-my-lawn!" Foundation (a 501(c)3) in Bortle's name.
