I see another war/invasion coming soon to keep unemployment lines

Then, just as during the recession in the 1940's your companies
overcapacity can be used to keep the gears of war turning smoothly.
Especially since the EU is refusing to rescue the eastern block of
nations
with a bailout.
Not sure which countries you refer to Herbert.
You mean eastern EU states? The ones that already received insane
amounts of incentives (and EU membership) in the past from the EU
(albeit that the main motivation for doing so was stability in the
region and not allowing the sovjets to regain control)? The ones that
in the past took advantage of the free trade/no duties within the EU
and lower local salary costs to get companies to move their production
from W-Europe to E-Europe? The ones that are now complaining that due
to these factories have now come to a standstill due to reduced market
demand? Should I give my tax money to them?
Tch tch Yum you sound like a conservative fellow.
Maybe. But they damaged our economy some years ago by undercutting our
labour costs. Now they want us to pay a second time because they are
mass production oriented nations, while W-European countries are more
focued on high-tech / high value added goods.
Or do you mean states east of the EU and are you implying that my tax
money should go to Poetin & friends? Not sure I can agree to that
either.
East of the EU.
I believe that the current bailout war (bailouts to companies that is)
is the worst what could have happened. With these bailouts we'll dump
huge sums of money into the industry, which will extend the suffering
but not do anything to change the result (the stronger companies
survive, the others wont).
I could not agree more. But you mentioned war. If the east does not get
bailed out and collapses - well - the two worst modern wars were started in
Europe.
The situation in Eastern Europe is not different from the rest of the
world. Everywhere budgets are to small, and national debts will have
to increase in order to give goverments means to stimulate the
economy. Why should a W-European nation increase its debts even more
to make sure Hungary breaks even?
Anyway I don't see the point of the discussion. According to the US
Government these countries are the New Europe, I'm living in Old
Europe. They should give us money.
Frankly due to their EU membership and use of the rather strong and
stable Euro many of these countries are already protected against
insane inflation or deflation of their own currency.
