you may want to check out the survivalist culture."Crisis Preparedness
Handbook" is a good reference, if you're interested.
HAHAHAHAHAHA...you're a nut.
Whatsamatter, that cradle-to-grave socialism hasn't made your happy
outcome a foregone conclusion?
---When has the US had "cradle to grave socialism"?
In it, I was perusing the food stockpiling plan called the 7 Plus
system. You'll need approx 12 cubic feet per person (using square cans)
to stockpile food for a year. This is fine and dandy if you own a home
with about 48 cubic feet of storage space. But, what if you have a
mortgage? Will the bank call it in early, like they did in the 30's,
leaving you with a yearly stockpile of food and no storage space?
This nuclear winter fantasy horseshit just needs to stop.
There is NO PROBLEM WITH FOOD PRODUCTION, ok? NONE.
All this is is a DEBT crisis with MONEY. It need NOT collapse the
goddamned world. All we have to do is REPUDIATE the debt, and walk
away.
----Sure. You can buy food with a wheelbarrow full of green backs if you wish....and then some crim will steal it from you.....
And, let's not forget water. I try to keep a two week supply (30 gal
minimum), but a years worth? Will water and sewer services be curtailed
drastically as more and more basic govt services become strapped for
cash? Sanitation? I have yet to purchase a bag of lime....
Don't forget you'll probably have to defend that supply. You'll
need a defensive type rifle (I'd like the Ruger mini 14 6.8, but I'll
have to make do with the SKS) and at least 500 rounds...both of which
are being or will soon be price gouged by gun dealers.
COMPLETE horseshit. Total and complete. You cannot defend your own
property this way.
----Yes, you can, Tranass....after Hurricane Andrew here there were many instances of people defending their property from roving crims.
Then there's sanitation, cooking fuel, medical equip, ect...
I live in a hurricane prone area, and have some provisions, but
we'll be tapped out after a couple weeks or so. My thoughts are, if you
don't have it by now, acquire as much as you can afford.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
You cannot prepare for the worst.
----I'd rather have my own food and water than stand in line in the hot sun. You see, Tranass, this is a little thing we go through down here every few years, and you didn't see me or mine standin' in the ice line....
