My guess is that he has a major inferiority complex and that lying
about himself online is a way of dealing with that.  He is constantly
trying to pass himself off as some sort of genius, a finance expert, a
master martial artist versed in secrets that "few in the world have
ever seen."  He constantly lies about his background, his location,
his teachers...  and if that wasn't bad enough he even tries to lie
about things he has said on rec.martial-arts.  One one occasion he
made a stupid argument, deleted the post, and then vehemently denied
ever having written it.  When it was pointed out to him that someone
else had already replied to it, so the text was there for all to see,
he went into a meandering rationalization about how his deleting it
was philosophically the same as having never written it...  or some
such bull***.

He constantly cites articles to "support" his arguments that either
say absolutely nothing about what he's trying to claim, or in some
instances actually contradict him.  Whether this is because he is too
lazy to actually read them, too stupid to understand them, or just
hopeful that nobody else will bother reading them, is unknown.

Every so often he claims that he will be leaving the newsgroup,
presumably to see how people will react to the news.  It is
interesting to note that he *did* leave a few years ago, not
surprisingly after digging himself into the same sorts of holes in
which he finds himself now.

Reminds me of other famous usenet nuts such as Archimedes Plutonium.
They share quite a few traits actually, interesting.

Back during his original incarnation, Ollie was such a prolific and
obvious troll that the regulars here actually started using his name
to grade other trolls...  thus was born the Richman scale.  At one
point, he was so annoying that one of our regulars actually wrote and
recorded a song about him; I don't have a link handy but I am sure
someone else here will.  The lyrics serve as a remarkably accurate
description.

If he does come through on his promise to leave for a year, he will no
doubt point to his post above as "proof" that he "won" all of the
various arguments that he had with the rest of us...  he seems to
believe (or at least his online persona does) that the mere fact of
his saying something qualifies as proof.

If he does not deliver on his promise to leave for the year, he will
claim that it was a joke.  Frankly, I expect the latter to happen
sometime before February.

If you're so sure of it, then why not make a bet?

Just like me going to Randi, this will be the easiest money you ever
made. How about $2,000? I didn't offer you as much as I offered Peter
because you're clearly worth much less.
