In all honesty that's the attitude that is going to get you killed.
My attitude will not be what gets me killed, you fool.
I'm sure you're smart and rich and everything but there are a few
flaws with your plan. One, you haven't actualized any of it yet. It's
about positioning. Look at Hal - regardless of what you think of him,
he appears to have positioned himself quite well. Look at me - hidden
in a maze of hills and valleys, a house with a farm at the foot of a
mountain. 1km from the highway and the coast. It has it's advantages
and disadvantages compared to what hal did but to each his own I
guess.
You live in a nation that we're going to give back to fucking CHINA,
Communist, corrupt CHINA. And you call yourself prepared? God damn,
you cannot be that stupid.
Hal lives in America. That's not prepared.
The truth? You wanna know the truth, dude? The truth is that if the
*** hits the fan, there IS NO PREPARATION.
Those who survived the Tsunami were merely LUCKY. Those who didn't
weren't. There IS NO PREPARATION that is satisfactory.
i know why you people do what you do, it's because you're afraid. You
don't know what to do so you do something. But you have adequately
planned for only a TINY fraction of all possible outcomes.
I can state a variety of very plausible scenarios in which you have
done EXACTLY the thing that will have killed you in the end.
That is why I laugh at people like you who imagine themselves
prepared. You have no clue. You ought to ask some people who lived
through the Great War, who were refugees, about how well-prepared they
were.
If you live on fucking Antarctica, I can basically guarantee nobody is
going to bother you. That's about all I can guarantee.
My planning is in being nimble. The nimble survive, the rooted do
not. Those who remain on the smouldering mountain die when it erupts;
those ready, willing, and ABLE to leave live.
It doesn't matter to me HOW I am going to get out...I spend no time
preparing or actualizing ANYTHING. What is the POINT?
The time is not HERE NOW. Until it IS, I CANNOT respond nor react to
it. YOU have both PREEMPTIVELY reacted to a reality that does NOT
EXIST.
And you have done so in complete ignorance of history.
Preparation? You want my preparation? I am stockpiling antibiotics.
That is the SOLE preparation I can think of that has any merit.
Anything you cannot carry with you could end up WORTHLESS. A simple
disaster nearby or overhead or being downwind of a radiation source,
and your entire farm is WORTHLESS.
You piled all your eggs into one basket...great. Hope that works out
for you.
I am planning to be agile and mobile and nimble so that I am not stuck
with everything I own in one goddamned physical location while the
army bears down on it.
Your main problem, I think, is that you haven't -really- planned out
what will happen or what you will do when it does. You say you have,
but it's just speculation - this "i'll just drive to the airport and
steal a plane" bull*** is very telling. What you claim you've done
doesn't really agree with (for example) stealing a plane as a viable
"escape route". If there isn't an emergency you won't be able to
"steal someone's plane". And if there is an emergency you won't be
able to drive to the airport. Unfortunately trav - as smart as you
REALLY? You think I don't KNOW THAT?
If there is an emergency, the ACCIDENTALLY LUCKY will survive!
that is how it WORKS. All I can hope for is that this is like a
hurricane, where we can see it forming. You give me a few days and I
could be out of this country forever with enough cash or gold to live
on indefinitely.
You, OTOH, are not planning for an event, you're planning for an
aftermath that is no more than a figment of YOUR imagination.
are, there are hundreds if not thousands of people just as smart as
you are who think they will find a way out before it's too late.
There is not a fucking person as smart as I, including you.
You have no way out. Remember that. For all you know, where you are
right now will end up being ground zero of an ICBM.
Who the *** is going to buy your farm then?
What are YOUR contingency plans, you idiots, if the fantasy world YOU
"foresee" (used loosely) does not materialize? The reality is that
you have none. If everything does not go as you NEED it to, you are
utterly, royally, completely FUCKED. My plan is to see how things are
and react to it. I don't get up in the batter's box deciding in the
on-deck circle what pitch the pitcher is going to serve up. HE gets
to choose, I have to be prepared to react to ANY he may throw.
The whims of fortune will decide each of our fates.
That's the real problem for someone in your position, the OTHER twenty
guys with guns looking to steal a plane - not that there won't be a
plane.
Then, while they argue, I will jump in and fly off.
