Re: Man handcuffed by police for falling off his own sofa

"Wayne Dobson" <nospam@xxxxxxxxxxxx> writes:

A police spokesman said Cocker became 'aggressive' towards the officers who
feared for their own safety.

The spokesman said: 'Parva spray was used to stop any confrontation and was
necessary to protect the officers and any members of the public who were
around at the time.

'Within the circumstances, we feel we used reasonable force.'

Dambasses on both sides by the sounds of it (not that one should
assume the truth in full here). Sounds like the sort of things robbers
could use in their defence too: "your honour, the bank teller became
contrite and the look in her eyes spoke of danger, and we feared for
our safety, so in order to sop any confrontation and to protect
ourselves and any members of the public who were around at the time we
had to subdue her with Parva spray before typing up the lot of them
and scarpering with the cash".

And to borrow from another news item:
"Oh, and we're really pissed that we have to give it back!"
