Assuming that it's in there alright, I will try to be as logical and
forthcoming as possible in my reply to you.
I happen to be one the guys that *believes* in ki; I've seen it, felt it,
I just can't use it consciously and I can't explain it scientifically.
Okay. Well P, if what you say is true, then I don't think you will
mind answering a few questions; Number one, in the absence of all
other motion what does the motion of chi most feel like?
a) a steaming hotdog in a bun
b) an ice-cold ball bearing in a pea shooter
c) electricity flowing along the entire length of a wire
d) a tingling feeling in the extremities of the limb you're moving
e) a channel of total relaxation/emptiness
f) boiling hot water flowing in a copper pipe
g) a needle in cotton
h) write your own
You assume I'm able to generate.. I've not trained for that; mine was on the receiving end.
Number two, when you stand up normally (not in some crazy position but
in a normal or whatever-relaxed position) and lift your hands above
your head (palms forward) and pull your shoulder back and then inhale,
where does the chi flow or tend to accumulate? Please provide a small
explanation for your answers which details in some part why you are
saying so.
It's not that there's no correlation so much that there's a nice, simple explanation for that one that requires no stepping out of current knowledge base. Whether or not there's more than one way to accomplish that effect is something else.
That said, the 'raising arms' example you selected has zero to do with
energy.. Please pick something a little more on-topic if you're going to
use this kind of example.
Maybe we've gotten off to the wrong start? If you could please answer
my two questions I could get a better grasp of exactly what level you
are and what you mean by chi. I'm asking this because I'm quite
suprised you see absolutely no correlation between the doorway trick
and ki.
Dunno.. you throw out the 'feel' as an established and accepted premise. That 'feel' has a *whole* range of attachments to it, not the least of which would be the absolute need to have control over your emotional state to achieve consistent results.
We all know Chi is real, because it is directly linked with feelings aBased on that sentence, Ki would change based on whether or not the
practitioner experiences.
practitioner was happy, sad, high, etc. I'm not saying this isn't so,
I'm just saying you need to understand what you're putting out there.
If it isn't so, and I made the statement, then I obviously made a
correct statement, which indicates I understand what I am putting out
there. So while I understand and agree with the issue you're rasing,
it's out of place to raise the issue at this particular time.
I'm just saying..
A better
time would be after you disagreed with my assessment of ki beingSure.. this is going to sound weird though, so bear with me
responsible in the doorway trick. Either way, "noted".
We are left wondering who the real idiot isOh, at this point, I don't think *anyone* has trouble identifying the
idiot(s).
you say you have felt ki: "I've seen it, felt it,"
please expand on this, i am sure everyone would love for you to tell
them what ki looks like and feels like.
This is going way back (over a decade) and my teacher is introducing energy strikes and the like.. He does it by standing at one end of the room and getting us to advance until we get to him. Some make it all the way, some don't. When my turn comes, I start towards him and about halfway I feel a tensing kind of feeling in the mid-section and just stop. There was no pain, no 'strike' only the light tensing.
Caveats:
- I was young and stupid, and somewhat impressionable
- There was a *lot* of manipulation in this teacher's approach, so I can't discount a cue I didn't clue in on. (read "the mysteries of the art" type of teacher)
Conclusions:
- The teacher did something that was comfortably outside my realm of understanding.
Based on that, I believe that *something* is out there, but as to whether it's manipulatable energies or a 'state of understanding' or whatever else, I simply don't know.
It's like someone trying to explain combustion and selecting "fart lighting" as the example.. No matter the argument, it just doesn't fit.
You know, just being associated with you by the barest thread of
potential lining up of beliefs is really, really embarrassing.. Do me a
favour and think a bit about what you're going to say next time you
post. I get the feeling you've got some sort of information that could
be useful but right now the truth seems to be your mouth is getting in
the way of your brain.
Why is it embarrasing? I obviously know what I am talking about, and
all you've said is you disagree with my assessment without stating
exactly why.
Feel free.. Your opinion of me is pretty much none of my business.
The third and final question I will ask you is to provide your OWN ki-
based explanation, from the standpoint of someone who has seen it and
felt it.
If I am wrong, I'll admit it, and I will learn something. If not, then
in the absence of any evidence from you *whatsoever*.. "i call
bull***".
