I did read the article - unlike you I understood the article.
Now that's a nasty comment - I didn't imply that *you* didn't
understand the article, Shuurai. It's irreverent crap like this that
cubbyholes you as a crank. But let's move forward, shall we?
"The period 1980-98 was one of rapid warming - a temperature increase
of about 0.5 degrees C (CO2 rose from 340ppm to 370ppm). But since
then the global temperature has been flat (whilst the CO2 has
relentlessly risen from 370ppm to 380ppm). This means that the global
temperature today is about 0.3 deg less than it would have been had
the rapid increase continued."
Which directly contradicts the "evidence" set forth by Gore and ilk
who have been claiming that the rate INCREASED over the past ten
years.
I don't disagree with you there. Mainly because I don't care about Al
Gore's position on global warming. The facts speak for themselves.
Which also contradicts the main premise of the global warming
crowd that there is a direct correlation between CO2 levels and global
heat averages. What part do you find confusing?
None - oh, the part where you didn't read what I wrote,or did, and
then read into it that I was a member of some kind of conspiracy
theory "global warming crowd".
Well, so in other words, a rise from 340 to 370 incurred a rise of
half a degree, but a rise from 370 to 380 incurred no rise in
temperature.
Which, again, directly contradicts the claims made by the Gore crowd.
Noted.
First, this obviously assumes that the rise in co2 is the only factor
affecting global temperature, which is false. If I missed something in
the article which adds to this I'm sorry and welcome any quotes.
Well no shit, Ollie... ya don't say? That is the POINT dumbass!
That the folks clamoring about CO2 emissions need to do more
research.
I'm not the dumbasss - I calmly made *my* point and you jumped on an
assumption - again. I think you better take a second look at what was
said before we continue this conversation.
We've hit peak oil, at least to the effect that oil demand for the first time ever has
reversed this year.
We've been there, bud.
This isn't a troll - it's a fact. During this year US oil demand
(encompassing gasoline and heating oil) reversed and decreased even
during the onset of winter. Would you like a chart?
The amount of oil being USED around the world has increased over the
past few years, not decreased. You need to stop cutting and pasting
shit you don't understand. You don't even know what Peak Oil means.
Yes I do - it means two things. One, you are in deep shit, and I'm
home free. Where do you live - wild guess - Virginia Beach or
Richmond. Anyone like you on the coast in a major population center is
fucked-how are they going to supply food to such a dense population
area? People will be leaving cities in droves. "Four meals to anarchy"
my friend. You had better start looking at the world in a vastly
different way before you start making comments like someone doesn't
understand peak oil.
Two, I won't have to put up with your baseless accusations anymore.
Hotmail will go down nearly guranteed and you won't be able to afford
to run a computer anyways. Hell the internet itself might go down,
although I suspect it will only shrink and usenet will still be here
in all its.. ahem.. "glory".
