Re: San Diego fires

----How did katrinwa teach us that only black people suffer from
natural disasters?

They told us so.

Should we rebuild, fires will just burn them down again?

Been a question since the Chumash were there- they spoke of wildfires
sweeping the coast three hundred years ago.

----Same question they asked about NO.....

The answer is no.

I have friends right in the area of the Malibu fire- they have
fire-resistant homes plus a mechanism to use their swimming pools as
fire-fighting mechanisms. Arson is so common that they get together and
patrol the roads long the crests of the hills, looking for guys throwing
road flares into the brush.

Will fire insurance pay for those upper middle class white folks homes,
or
do you think "wild fires" are exempt in their policies?

Fire insurance is difficult to get and very expensive if you live in a
hazardous area- lots of the people who lost everything didn't have any.

----Guess they shouldn't build there, eh? Just like NO. If we
shouldn't sympathize with NO, why should we do so for the well to do
in CA?

As long as they are willing to bear the risk and not ask for a umpty umpty
trillion dollar levee they build anywhere they want.

I wonder how many of these folks grumble about firemen's unions and
property taxes?

Silly piece of fiction which has nothing to do with disasters.

About the same as grumble about welfare queens, pork-barrel projects and
illegal aliens living off the support network we've built for our own
poor.

-----They're the same people. Don't want to pay taxes, but scream
"help" when the fires close in. They'll pat the fireman on the back
when he saves their homes, and then complain about the taxes that fund
them and their pay and retirement funds the next year.

Utter fiction from a bigoted imagination.
