Yes We have far too many gun snatchers in congress. Clinton, Schumer, Biden,
Feinstein, Kerry, Kennedy, Lantos, Boxer etc. The only nice thing is Rahn
Emmanuel went out and recruited conservative democrats to take congress
back. They are blue dogs and recently voted against another gun control
bill.

Case in point: family of
a friend of mine did some kind of a tour holiday across the 'States
recently - at every internal flight the whole family, having foreign
passports, got the full search, one guy having a false arm constantly
X-rayed in case it had explosives in it - hours wasted plus being treated
like *** doesn't leave a good impression.

Yup. I have a friend who quit flying. Gets rather silly when political
correctness has you searching grey haired gandmothers too.

In the meantime
American citizens just trundled past, presumably because none of them
could possibly be terrorists. In my experience, idiocy on the shop floor
is a clear indicator of idiocy higher up. Keep watching your back.

Was it supposed to be the disarming of the immigrants that started it? I
mean Holme's Dr. Watson had a revolver as I remember it. Elementary

Carrying firearms prior to 1920 was not uncommon and was no problem. The
1920 Firearms Act, (the start of the present system) was passed because
there was a real fear of a Russian style revolution, there being more than
a few battle hardened men knocking about who were out of work, getting
angrier and angrier, and who, for some obscure reason, were not inclined
to be as subservient to their 'betters' as prior to the 1914-18 trenches.

Ah gotcha.

Ironically, it was always intended that 'good reason' for having a firearm
would be to protect oneself from criminals, but this quietly faded away
over the years although it was never directly forbidden by law.

Heavens leave it to the authorities snicker.
