Re: Anti grappling - all theory and no results?

Oh, not true at all- and I have cited a number of individuals and schools
that are happy to share with you; Keith Moffat, Stuart Lauper, the Kun Lun
Pai and the three Progressive schools. Randall Goodwin does it up in
Montreal; a number of people in California and the NorthWest.
Feel free to drop by and teach them something- I'm sure I'm not extending
anything with which they're not comfortable.
Hell; there are some guys out of the Indonesian Embassy in DC that would be
happy to see you. I've only talked with a couple of them, but they're
headbangers from all indications. They probably even have mats- everybody's
going to them now.

Techniques like this and the small joint shit works on
people who have poorly-conditioned reflexes.

Poop- no more nor less than other locks.
Don't confuse instructional demonstrations with their use in combat.

MMA fighters, boxers,
guys like that, are too busy pounding on you or trying to enter to
suplex you onto your head.

Of course- the old joke goes that the fistfight is over who gets to apply
the lock.

They are already giving the furious
barrage and if your fight reflexes are ill-trained for that, you are
getting dropped at a range beyond that which you can employ this
crap.

Another old aphorism; 'Nothing succeeds like a furious barrage of heavy
blows'.

These guys don't let themselves get grabbed, joint manipulated,
touched, any of that. They are conditioned to hit and keep hitting
and have head and foot movement and put you the fk out with it. Every
one of these techniques you put forth works from surprise - THAT is
the operative issue, not the technique. Almost anything works from
surprise.

Sometimes just being smarter is a surprise to them- a bigger bag of tricks;
a variation on their understanding; an exploitation of their vulnerability
or weakness.
And of course, that's the way everybody serious trains. All the guys I'm
talking about are hard-contact knuckleheads with a full arsenal of strikes
and grappling. Ask Badger North about Randall Goodwin's familiarity with
'mma' kinds of techniques, or whether he depends on 'surprise'. I mention
Randall only because I'm familiar with his work.

In any type of norules fight against an MMA trained adversary, you
might win 1/100 with this shit.

Actually, one of the things that Kris Roberts found out with Pat Smith is
that a trick would work once. After that, Pat was smart enough to learn and
defend- but then again, in a real fight, all you need is once. Pat
outweighed Kris by 40 lbs. or so, and had 15 years of study behind him at
the time.
And stop assuming that people who know more than you don't know what you
know.
We *specialize* in grappling- all the punches are just to get our hands on
you. We *specialize* in takedowns; specialize in groundfighting- employ all
the applications you know, and far, far more.

The other 99 you are getting KTFO.

'The Striker's Chance'-
everybody likes to pug, Councelor.

Everyone would be better served by just bringing a gun.

You people ignore all weapons- shake folks down to make sure they don't have
one; regulate the footwear/pants/gloves/cup; check for too much grease even.
Your whole system acts like they don't exist-
and yeah; we shoot as well.
